Huntly Ward
Electing 2 Councillors

LYNCH, Shelley

My principal place of residence is in the Huntly Ward area.

I’ve been a full time Councillor for three terms. I have the experience and knowledge gained from my commitment to the District to be in the best position to continue to promote Huntly’s interests.

I’ve a good understanding of Council issues and procedures and I’m not reluctant to stand my ground when it comes to having my say.

I believe in open and clear communication between myself, other Councillors and the public.

I’m currently Chair of Councils Discretionary and Funding Committee. I’m on the Huntly Community Board, Ohinewai Area Committee, member of Rotary, Glen Afton Pukemiro Committee, Genesis Consultitive Committee. I belong to the Business and Professional Womens Association, Huntly’s Civil Defence committee and a member of the Huntly RSA.

With your help, I hope to continue to serve and represent our Community.

Kia ora. Hello. Talofa lava. Bula Vinaka. Malo e lelei. Namaste. Nihao.

Diversity on any governing board generates better decisions because the final decision represents different points of view.

I offer diversity. Female. Maori. Chartered Accountant. Accredited environment commissioner. Justice of the peace. An experienced governor. And my husband Tom and I still have a child at high school.

I’m an environmentalist, committed to my faith, a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit and an active member of Huntly and Ngaruawahia communities.

I chair a river catchment committee, am a Trustee of Raukura Hauora o Tainui as well as Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (The Correspondence School). I’ve been a member of the NZ Maritime Authority and Wintec Council.

I’m passionate about creating economic opportunities, affordable rates and believe everyone should have a decent quality of life.

I’m asking for the opportunity to represent you.
