Hukanui-Waerenga Ward
Electing 1 Councillor

LOVELL, Howard
Independent

My principal place of residence is not in the Hukanui-Waerenga Ward area. I am also standing for Taupiri Community Board.

I am committed and passionate about the Hukanui-Waeranga district. The opportunity to represent you is exciting and presents as a challenge for me to use my skills and experience to benefit locals. The Lovell family were original settlers and remain in Taupiri after 5 generations. I have lived in the area all my life and have run our family farm here for over 30 years. Having served 18 years on the Taupiri community board and through my recent involvement with council workshops and our own housing development, I have gained immense knowledge that will assist with the decision making process that the council demands. My work experience includes mining, dairy manufacturing, freezing industry and dairy farming. I am involved in community organisations including the Taupiri School Board of Trustees, the local rugby club and I support my wife and daughters in their equestrian interests. I would love your vote.

WOOLERTON, Chris

My principal place of residence is in the Hukanui- Waerenga Ward area.

I was born and raised in Horsham Downs and have farmed for over 25 years in the district. I am married to Susan and we have 4 children.

A ward councillor is an important role, one that can contribute greatly to the lives of ward residents. Sensible solutions will ensure community services are maintained and developed. Issues such as road safety around schools and road maintenance. As locals, we need a representative who is approachable and will take interest in all our community needs. I currently coordinate ICONZ for Boys where we have a wonderful engagement from community families. I am also actively involved at Oaks Christian Centre.

I am a practical person who will be effective on your behalf around the council table. I have a heart for our community and it would be a privilege to represent you.
